Thoughts From Atop The Lair 10/26/2011: Where’s My Soap Box..DAMMIT!!!

TMIBLIVESSHOTSFROMTHELAIR

I am TMIB, The Man In Black, and I stand high atop my lair observing the Professional Wrestling.  Ok first things first..(places Soap Box on floor and jumps on top)..OK straight to business.

Let me state fact..Michael Cole (character or not) is the biggest ass on WWE TV.  It's not my opinion it's fact..however WWE is just as guilty for allowing his stereotypical rude insulting comments to take place.  Hell they probably wrote that garbage.  DO they think making fun of someone for any reason is OK..what about your "Be A Star" crap..yea I called it crap.  Bullying isn't just threatening some one..it can be comments, stereotyping, and judging a person by their outward appearance.  The JR and Cole battle has been done..NOW you allow Cole to make fun of JR's weight..what is this saying to the young people watching your show's?  If I was JR and you had asked me to do that story line..I would have to you to go to hell..and then beat someone's ass.  I myself am straight..but didn't appreciate the gay insult that Cole was allowed to say to Josh Mathews..and no suspension, not reprimand..NOTHING.   It's not right and YOU know it.

Ok (put soap box away) I wasn't hyped about Mark Henry's push..not because I dislike Mark Henry..but because the WWE allowed him to be punked and become a joke. By this I mean..he get's beaten a lot then suddenly I am supposed to believe the sell that he is unstoppable..doesn't work that way.  You give him people 3 times as small as he is and think we are supposed to be in AWE.  However Enter the Big Show..NOW the in ring chemistry between Show and Henry works.  Show taking Henry down makes Henry look more believable.  And the Super Plex off the top rope at Vengeance...HOLY SHIT.  Now it all make's sense.

In an earlier Post I stated the reason I didn't like Del Rio as a champion..it seems his character has become more sinister..or Darker.  This I like...but still don't like Del Rio.  He is a better heel.  I do believe the WWE should expand his battles..I mean having him face Cena all the time is getting dull.  Hopefully we will see a n expansion of his opponent base.  I can say one thing..Del Rio he needs to learn to take a hit like his announcer..DAMN did you see the hit he took from Show..and the black eye or since it was the Show's WMD's it was more like a Black Face.

Ok I like the feud with Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes..(Cody work on your evil laugh man Just Saying).  It has been a while since they feuded and the mind games between both are getting good.  I do wish the WWE would stop push signature moves during matches.  I can see in the video games but come on.  Having Randy do a close-line, a duck under then a power slam every match is a good example.  See Orton isn't just focused on Rhodes..he is still messing with Mark henry..this is what they need to do with Del Rio.

Ok here is a grab bag..I understand the WWE had to explain Triple H's injury but the frothing at the mouth...SMH...come on you need a new realism or medical consultant.  Thankfully Nash and Triple H made it better than it was.  I am glad to see The Road Dog being given a chance to be in the WWE as a producer (I smell a DX return..who wouldn't).

Thanks TMIB

Thoughts From Atop The Lair 09/27/2011: Blast From The Past

TMIBSWATAVI

I am TMIB, The Man In Black, and I sit high atop my lair observing the wrestling world. In this issue I will talk about Wrestling memories.  I re-watched the 2011 H.O.F. ceremonies recently.  I want to say this..I enjoyed the stories that I heard.

Hearing "Bullet" Bob Armstrong talk of the first time he saw a wrestling match and how it had effected him.  Listening to The American Dream Dusty Rhodes talk of the old days and seeing @WWEGoldust smiling and laughing at his dad's stories along with all the WWE Super Stars.  Hearing these stories re-energized my loyalty to the sport I love.

Some times as fans we enter a time of complacency.   We get frustrated with the "Business" and forget that it is the Super Stars of the sport we truly support.  It is their sweat, blood and tears that makes the shows we watch worth watching.  It is not their fault the powers that be continue to re-use story lines, hire writers and bookers that don't know what we want and what, to borrow a phrase from C. M. Punk, "Is GOOD for business".

Ok, as you know mahyem-news.com writes on all wrestling organizations as well as other topics.  Let's talk about the WWE  first.  The WWE is "on top".  This is true mainly due to the size of their organization.  They have had a lot of problems as of late with not finishing story lines.  Why this is I don't know..are they having problem coming up with attention keeping story lines..who knows.  We never get to find out what happens..and that bugs the crap out of me and most I talk to about it.  They did apparently realize that ADR as champ was not getting the draw as much as they thought he would.  I do like Cena and he is their money right now.  However they need to find someone to compete with him to allow them to gain the title.  If Cena keeps the title it will be Triple H and the Celtics all over again.  People will get tired of it fast.

Know lets talk about TNA..yes I watch TNA to allow me to write about them.  I don't like TNA...however..I do like some of their talent and believe they would do well in the WWE.  The main reason I watch TNA is I am a Sting fan...always have been.  Sing has always been there.  His transition from the blonde flat-top body builder type wrestler, to the Crow-like apparition to the Dark Night Joker-like character he is now has been fun to watch.  I believe he would do good in the WWE and think he should go to the WWE ASAP.  A. J. Styles would be huge in the WWE.  His work ethic and in ring skills would push him far in the WWE.  Samoa Joe would be a beast in the WWE with proper backing and focus.  These are just a few that I believe would do themselves a favor by going to the WWE and many others such as Gunner, Abyss, and Beer Money.  I agree with Sting in saying that Hogan and Bishoff are like a Cancer and at this point are what make TNA or Impact wrestling have so many problems.

Ok lets talk about ROH and Territory League..I don't get to watch Ring Of Honor so can't comment on them much but have enjoyed the stuff I have watched on the internet on the Territory League.  @TheREALRIKISHI and the boys have done a good job on the shows I have seen.  Would be good to see them on TV too.  That's it for this addition.

Thought From Atop The Lair 08/13/2011: Has the Smack Come Back To Smack Down?

TMIBSWATAVI

I am TMIB, The Man In Black, and I sit high atop my lair observing the wrestling world. I watched last night’s Smack Down in shock. It was a good show for a change.

So this is the question..Has the smack come back to Smack Down? Well it sure seems it has a pulse now. Which is good cause the last few months of the same old crap was pathetic. I can say that Triple H has made things interesting as of late. This weeks show didn’t have the same old matches.

Ok..first good thing in the show is the DOD baby…Diva’s of Destruction. Natalya and Beth have made the Diva’s Division very interesting. You can tell Goldust is running the Diva’s action. I think it’s about time there was a change in the division and obviously having a veteran like Goldust push them in the right direction was a good one.

The second good part..was the interaction between Triple H and Christian. It was funny to watch Christian crawl back under his rock after Triple H burst his bubble about his “Law Suite”…LOL. Christian is starting to come over as a truly despising heel..like finger nails on a chalkboard.

The third good thing in the show Was the IC title match. Solid match between Big Zeke and Cody. I did think the finish could have been a little more polished but great to see Cody being pushed. I don’t like is character too much but it is growing on me.

Ok can’t talk about the good without mentioning the bad..you know it’s the whole Yin and Yang and Light and Darkside thing…LOL. OK we saw the return of Sin Cara..or did we. If that was Sin Cara..he was WUI..or Wrestling Under the Influence..LOL. Who ever it was it wasn’t Mistico the real Sin Cara. This guy was bigger and obviously not as agile as Sin Cara. He missed multiple moves last night..really obvious..smh.

Thanks TMIB

Thoughts From Atop The Lair 08/04/2011: Game On!!

I am TMIB, The Man In Black, and I sit high atop my lair observing the wrestling world. This issue it’s GAME ON!!!!

WWE has been thrown into the air, stirred, and let fall where it might. Vince McMahan has been stripped of his powers and Triple H stands at the helm..where will he take the WWE Ship..only time will tell.

So as has been stated by others..Vince has removed himself from TV every year for the last 5 years but is he gone. Triple H has be in charge for just over 10 days. He brought back CM Punk and we now have 2 WWE champions..and will see John Cena v/s CM Punk at Summer Slam. I like Cena and Punk not so much. But I think Punk will win to remove the rumblings that Cena has the title too often. He is even compared to Triple H’s very LONG title run in the past. Punk fan base is growing and even his humor is pushing him forward more.

We have seen the return of Jim Ross to Raw and seen Michael Cole put in his place..it’s about damn time. Raw is back in sync with Ross there. Now it’s time to put Cole on Superstars..LOL.

We have seen Christian put in his place and a Christian v/s Orton NO Holds Bared match. It will be brutal but a good match. I think Orton will win since we all love to here Christian wine…I think I’ll send him some cheese…LMAO.

We have all noticed the change in the Diva ranks. Better matches and more interesting Diva interaction. Well with @WWEGoldust running the diva related action..we get to see better stuff. Good see the Glamazon going for the title again. Way to go Goldust. And welcome back to twitter.

Thanks..TMIB.

Thoughts From Atop The Lair 07/09/2011

I am TMIB, The Man IN Black, and I sit high atop my lair watching the wrestling world. A lot going on for this installment. Raw, Smack Down and Impact (TNA) Wrestling notes.

Raw Notes:

As expected Punk will face Cena on the last day of his contract..I don’t normally read spoilers but since this 4th of July show was prerecorded I read the spoilers. Most hated and like the fact that Punks rant seemed legit. This is when I wished I hadn’t read the spoilers that said what was going to take place on Raw the next week. So Mr. McMahon is going to fire John Cena…Ummm..yea right. He is going to fire the WWE’s cash flow king..not likely. So it’s obvious Cena will win…or will he. Can you picture the things they could do with Cena if he was “fired”..could we see the Heel turn..could Cena go to the Dark Side. It will be interesting to watch.

Smack Down notes:

Sigh…why does WWE continue to use the same card every week. I am tempted to stop watching it all together. But out of my curiosity I tune in just to see if the Undertaker show’s up..hey I can wish can I. Since my fellow writer covered this fact so well..I’ll let his work speak on that.

Impact Wrestling:

Last weeks Impact Wrestling was promising. But this weeks Show was a let down. However, there are some high points that keep the shows pulse from stopping completely. Stings “Dark Knight” impression is funny as hell. The mixture of the Crow Sting and the “Joker” bring back my memories of the old Flat Top Sting. Ok and the storyline between the X Division and Abyss is interesting. The stealing of Abyss’s mask was funny..could we be looking at an Abyss swerve on Immortal. I say this because of the recent joining of Steiner and now Mr. Anderson. Too many bulls in the pasture means trouble. And who is the surprise Jeff is bringing from Mexico..Do I sense a Guerrero appearance in the future. Could we be seeing Chavo or is it someone new. We shall see.

Thanks TMIB

Thoughts From Atop The Lair 06/25/2011: Is it Real or Memorex?

1305350370149I am TMIB, The Man In Black, and I sit high atop my lair observing the wrestling world as we know it. I have watched over the last three weeks and I wonder if the WWE has a Memorex copier.

By that I mean do the put a series of match ups between superstars and just change the order or outcome each week. I saw the same matches on the previous two weeks on Smack Down. I mean the same crap. Only a few parts of the show was worth watching because we saw it the week before. Thank heavens they changed it up this week.

It seem the WWE is having trouble keeping it fresh. I wonder if the PG rating is limited their creative juices. I know its boring the hell out of me. How bored am I? It's bad when I play words for friends or check twitter on my phone or computer while I am watching wrestling. This isn't always the case but more often lately. They need to realize that some fans have been watching it all and get tired of seeing the same old tired shit.

Now for something's their doing right: 1. The fact that Mark Henry is being what he is The Worlds Strongest Man is good. You cant sit and watch a guy that big get punked out all the time. Yes he has an issue with being in a rut as far as his skill set but so does Christian. If I see the legs through the rope kick one more time I may choke. I mean that wouldn't.t work and you can time your watch by it. It happens every match and looks as stupid as it did every other time you see it. 2. I liked the Uso's tribute to their heritage. I also like the tribute to Kishi with the in ring dance..hate they lost though. I could get used to former Core members Gabriel and Slater as a tag team especially since I couldn't stand The Core. The feud with the Uso's could be a good thing. 3. Randy Orton teaming with Kane..now that's mixing things up and they worked together well even though they lost. I have to agree with my friend @PricelessVoices..Randy's smile is creepy...LOL. Randy's "Hi, for you that don't know...I'm Randy Orton" gimmick is funny as hell. I think allowing him to show some emotion was a good idea. 4. I think the R-Truth heel turn, though to extreme at times, has broadened his character. The dancing did get on my nerves a little. Christian heel turn seems to be stuck in the mud...I believe it should be turned up a notch.

As for Raw, I wonder if CM Punk is leaving or staying. I am not a fan per say, however there have been tones of rumors floating about. My other question is do we want to see Cena vs. Punk again..there we go same old crap. Why cant we see something new PPPPLEEEAAAASSEEE! I mean I dont like Punk but if he is leaving for real..I believe WWE is loosing an asset or an ASS if you listen to some talk on twitter. He has talent don't get me wrong.

In closing I hope the WWE realizes we get tired of seeing the same thing over and over.

Thanks TMIB

Thoughts From Atop The Lair 04/09/2011

I am TMIB, The Man In Black, and I stand high atop my lair observing the happenings in the wrestling world.

We are six days removed from the WM 27.  I believe the show was overall a good show.  The order of the matches was confusing for most fans I've talked to however.

That's the topic this issue along with some grab bag stuff.  Most fans wondered why the United States Championship was a dark match.  Well the WWE adressed this personally.

I was suprised to see the World Title open the show.  I feel that it could be a way to get the crowd going.  I'm not into Del Rio but he and Edge did a great job and it was good to see Edge and Christian together again...a con-chairto to the car would have been awesome...LMAO.

Ok Cody vs Rey...first things first, CODY..if you have tiny chicken legs, dont wear a big black coat and hood.Rey as usual came out like he normally does.  The match was decent, except for Cole running his mouth about the mask...does he ever shut up.  Didn't like the outcome but thought the match held the fans attention.

Ok what was the point of the eight man tag match...one word...BIG SHOW DOMINATION.  Moving on...LOL.

Orton vs C M Punk...very good match. These guys brought it to the ring...and with Orton beating CM Punk lets hope nexus is dead.  It has run it's course.  Some times I wonder if the NXT show wasn't created just for the Nexus storyline...hmmm...makes you wonder.

Ok...King vs Dick..oops I mean Cole.  Hey Cole did you know you look like a penis with feet...ooops sorry it just poped out there.  This match was good until...we let me ask this wasn't this a ppv...so why the hell was the Raw GM thing even there...you didn't see Teddy Long..(at least on camera.) interfering.  And Cole pushed Stone Cold, put his hands on the ref...only then did he push Cole...come on GM...*smh*.  Ok got to mention my girl @rebelroselover and qoute her reference to Officer and a Gentlemen.  Cole being carried out by Swagger...LMAO.

Taker vs HHH....one word WOW.  The match speaks for it's self.  Was suprised about the direct head shot.  I agree I think its bullshit about the fines to Taker and HHH.

Good to see Trish Stratus..and shocked at Snooki's athletisism.  Think this match being later than the Taker and HHH match...was Stupid.

Cena vs Miz with the Rock was ok but confusing.  Overall they did a good job.

That's it for this issue...thanks
